This morning I want to share a short but powerful paragraph I read in the foreword to Madeleine L'Engle's beautiful book Walking on Water: Reflections on Faith and Art

On following God's call to use your talent:
"Be encouraged. Close your eyes and let go. Remember, as Peter did, what it felt like when nothing was sustaining you in the small space between your feet and those daunting waves but the power of an unrelenting Love.
And walk on." ~Nicole Nordeman, singer
Dear Friends when you doubt everything else: your call, your talent, your ability, your willingness, remember the Creator of the universe loves you and has gifted you to do His good will!
Selah is probably either a liturgico-musical mark or an instruction on the reading of the text, something like "stop and listen". Selah notes a break in the song and as such is similar in purpose to Amen in that it stresses the importance of the preceding passage.
