I base my beliefs on the Bible as God's inspired word. I believe the Old Testament is given for our growth and hope. I believe the New Testament is the fulfillment of the prophecies and promises given in the Old Testament.
"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17 [NASV]
I believe that:
- God is Eternal -- Genesis 1:1
- God is the Creator of everything -- Genesis 1:2-2:2
- Man sinned against God -- Genesis 3:1-6
- God punishes sin -- Genesis 3:14-19
- God provides redemption from sin -- Genesis 3:15
- Jesus Christ is the promised Redeemer -- Matthew 16:16; Mark 8:29
- Jesus Christ was born of a virgin -- Matthew 1:18
- Jesus Christ is the Son of God -- Matthew 12:46-50
- No one is righteous on his/her own -- Romans 3:10
- All have sinned -- Romans 3:23
- God loves us and provides a way to Himself -- John 3:16; Romans 5:8; 6:23
- Jesus will return to take us to heaven -- Acts 1:11; 3:19-21; Revelation 17:14; 22:20
